• The Wyoming Board of Dental Examiners licenses Dentists, Dental Hygienists and Dental Assistants. No person may practice as a Dentist or Dental Hygienist in the State of Wyoming without first obtaining a license from the Board.  
    • It is the responsibility of the applicant to review the Rules and Regulations to determine the appropriate application method. The Board office will not communicate with any individual except for the applicant regarding the status of any application.
    • Please be aware the Board will NOT accept cash.
    • Per the rules and regulations, all licenses and permits expire on December 31st of the year they are issued. You will need to renew your license or permit on December 31st, regardless of the issue date. 


    If a new graduate - not licensed anywhere yet.

    If actively licensed in another state.

    If actively licensed in another state and requesting a temporary educator's permit to instruct at a dental hygiene school while full license approval is pending.

    Hygienist Reinstatement
    If Wyoming license has been revoked, surrendered, suspended, conditioned, or restricted

    Non-Clinical Hygienist
    Limited license for teaching, examining, consulting, reviewing, or engaging in administrative oversight

    Volunteer's Certificate
    If retired, a certificate for providing services to low-income, uninsured persons at nonprofit health care facilities

    Expanded Function Applications
    To perform these functions, you must submit an application form for approval.


    Licenses expire on December 31st of the year of issue. A license renewal notice is mailed to each licensed dentist and dental hygienist at their last address of record approximately sixty (60) days prior to December 31st. The renewal application must be post-marked by December 31st to be considered without a late fee.  When the renewal application is approved, the license is renewed for one (1) calendar year. The renewed licensee will will receive new pocket ID cards and a receipt for the renewal fee.

    Please note all licenses must be renewed by December 31 of each year in order to continue to practice in the state. If your license is not renewed by December 31, YOU MAY NOT PRACTICE IN WYOMING. 

    Hygienist Lapsed License Application
    If Wyoming license lapses, dental hygienists may restore their lapsed license until December 31st of the year the license lapsed.

    If Wyoming license has lapsed/expired and was not renewed within the year after it expired
