Wyoming Board of Dental Examiners

Hygienists

License and Permits required to practice in Wyoming

  • Individuals wishing to practice as a Dentist or Dental Hygienist in the State of Wyoming must first obtain licensure.

  • Any dental assistant taking and exposing radiographs or placing pit and fissure sealants must first obtain a permit.

Applying for Licensure

  • The Board office will only communicate with the applicant regarding the status of any application.

  • The Board will not accept cash, please do not mail or carry in cash payments.

  • Per the Rules, all licenses and permits will expire December 31 of the year issued - even if it is issued December 30. If you are applying close to the December 31 date, you can request your license not be issued until after December 31. It is important to remember you may not practice in Wyoming until that license is issued.

Application Processing

Once an application file is received and determined to be complete, review typically takes 1-3 weeks. This is a generalization and not a guarantee. Review time may vary due to the application type, current staff and/or review committee workload, if any discipline is disclosed, etc. All applications are processed as quickly as staff is able and each is processed in the order received.
